Date Bites recipe

1 cup = 240 ml 
  • 7 cups of AP flour (13% protein)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1.5 cup oat milk
  • 400 g pitted dates
  • 100 g walnuts
  • Sesame seeds
Cooking instructions:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt then mix them well.
  2. Add in the oil and mix well with your hand.
  3. Add in the oat milk and shape into a dough ball.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180 c.
  5. Cut the dates and walnuts with a knife and mix them together into a very sticky paste.
  6. Add the date filling into the rolled dough then roll the dough over for one and half rotations.
  7. Pinch the edges and cut to size.
  8. Optionally, You can brush with oat milk and roll in sesame seeds.
  9. Bake for 20 to 30 min or until brown.
  10. Store in a closed container.
